  1. Hello Poppy! Nice wordpress blogg you have. I’m a folkboat sailer and planning the beginning of My Viking Adventure next summer or 2016. Living in Umeå but have My boat in south Sweden. Find your webb inspiring. God night. Tomas

      Hej Tomas,
Thank you for your kind words! Folk boats are beautiful and Umeå too! I was in Holmsund Pathsholmviken two times. I am glad you like my website. Stay in touch! Good night!

First time I’ve seen these….what a cosy and tidy ship is “Free”….so did you have to tidy up before taking the pictures?….hehe…;-)

    • Viking Queen says:

Pretty much like that most of the time, Si. I hate clutter, you can’t live on a sail boat with clutter, it’s downright dangerous in rough weather, as I’m sure you know.

      • Yes it’s true….even on a river and coastal motor cruiser…I am normally a very cluttered hoarder and live among’st piles of junk and paper but when I went cruising the boat was inevitably tidy….often after a bit of a blitz!….:-)

        Very wise, Si!

  3. My family and I are very keen to get rid of all the “stuff” we have stunting our lives. Then living on a sailing boat. Your blog is great food for the mind.

I’m really glad to have provided some inspiration. I’ve been doing this for a long time now… eleven years all over Europe and down the Red Sea. I won’t sugar coat it… it can be extremely tough at times, but the consolation is that you can really find out who you are. There is no one to blame when you’re on the high sea and one learns to take full responsibility for themselves. I am a single hander so perhaps I get the rough end of things, but many folk don’t really do half the things they say. If you want to discuss it more I am available. Good luck in your choices.
